Summary
Victoria Barnett has it all: a great career as a nurse practitioner, a handsome and loving husband, a beautiful home in the suburbs, and a plan to fill it with children. Life is perfect—or so it seems. Then she’s in a terrible accident… and everything falls apart. Now Victoria is unable to walk. She can’t feed or dress herself. She can’t even speak. She is confined to the top floor of her house with twenty-four-hour care. Sylvia Robinson is hired by Victoria’s husband to help care for her. But it turns out Victoria isn’t as impaired as Sylvia was led to believe. There’s a story Victoria desperately wants to tell… if only she could get the words out. Then Sylvia discovers Victoria’s diary hidden away in a drawer. And what’s inside is shocking.

The story was contrived and unbelievable. Without giving anything away, the character’s decision making was ridiculous.

Great book. Kept me listening. Enough twists that stopped it being boring.

This reminded me of Verity. I get agro when a character has intuition and feelings about things but never acts on them. I found that frustrating about this book. Still enjoyed it.

I was hooked. Although, I wanted to shake some sense into the main character but it’s part of the story. As a free VIP pick, I was pleased with the book.

Gave four stars, but would have given 3.5 if I could’ve. The book was decent, had some good twists and turns. But I could not stand the character Vicki before her accident. It was hard to believe she was that naive.

I loved it! At first I thought it was too close to Verity but there were enough differences.

Slow start, but narrator made up for that. The twists were amazing, the ending came out of nowhere! Would recommend, 5/5.

They really thought about every detail and connected all the pieces. And the narrator was amazing and changed their voice to fit the characters beautifully and it helped me stay connected to the story. Definitely worth the listen!

I felt like this book didn’t know what it wanted to be. A mystery? A romance? I was tempted to DNF but I doubled the speed and got’er done. Didn’t regret it, but I guess just not my style.

Certainly an interesting and twisted storyline, making the reader/listener change sides several times. I enjoyed this book very much and also the narration was good.

Really enjoyed this book to the point of listening to it at home rather than just on my daily commute in the car so I could hear what happened next

You’ll figure it out right away then a left turn and rethink it then a sharp right turn and you rethink that one.

Got this as a VIP extra. I have to say often those books are disappointing but I really enjoyed this one. Great depiction of narcissistic abuse.

It definitely gives me Verity vibes, but I didn't mind the listen...

Verity, but actually good. The characters have soo much more demention. You don't leave feeling let down and frustrated. Much more appropriate handling of the subject matter and a real page turner to boot.

Wasn’t sure I would like this but the reviews were so good thought I would give it a go, really should have gone with my instincts.
