Unabridged Audiobook
Good story, ready to see the film now!
Never let Walter Kronkite narrate your book
A good story but a little quiet in spots. The narrator isn't too bad struggles a bit with the remain voices. All in all engaging and a good listen.
Not a bad story, it seemed to drift a bit (in audio book format) - I know, I know - it's a book! You kind of had an inkling what the outcome was going to be - especially with the amount of time Clancy spent on the 'man-crush' Admiral Greer and some of the other military folks had for John Kelly. Another hard thing to reconcile - was the primary character of the book, taking the law into his own hands, and the final result(s). Did his actions (in-country) really justify the steps he took while back in MD? I would agree with some of the other reviews that the narration (at times) was difficult to hear. I had to turn it way up on my car radio - to hear what the narrator was saying. Some of his accents (Nurse Sandy, the Russian Major interrogating the prisoners) was kind of funny.
This book had multiple storylines going throughout. I liked the book very much but I feel I would have enjoyed a non-audio reading of such a lengthy book with so many characters and threads of the story. The narrator was really not able to show differentiation between characters with his voice. Just an average reading of a great story.
A great reader and an awesome book...I loved every minute of it.
Good listen, intriguing and description of characters sets context for 'John Clark' in the future.
one of my all time favorites!!!!
Promised a lot (given it's Clancy), delivered little. Stopped listening 3/4 way through. To make matters worse the narration is extremely irritating.
Great book. The characters were all vivid and believable and enough detail and time was given to each that their reactions didn’t catch you off guard. The main character was a man of such good character that you loved to cheer for him. The story was suspenseful and enthralling. One of my favourite books. The narrator was a bit quite but did a great job everywhere else and added to the enjoyment of the story.
great book. held me in suspense the entire time
I've read all of Tom Clancy's books many years ago when they first came out....and still have them on my book shelf. However, I've taken to listening to books in the car while commuting to/from work. It's been a couple of decades since I read Without Remorse, and listening to it again was awesome! For those who had negative comments because of lots of technical information....well....that's why Clancy's books were the beginning of a new subgenre of books....the techno-thriller! It's the overwhelming technical information that makes it real. Great book and good narration!
Great story line, but there was alot of unnecessary technical information added in. The audio quality was horrible. The narrator mispronounced numerous words.
Good story. Unpredictable, good dialogue, and good characters. Quality of the sound was low. Had to listen at highest setting sometimes.
Book was excellent, the narration was a little boring .. there is so much color and background with a story like this, and it sounded a little bland ...
Goooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooood
Excellent book that fills in the "John Clark" backstory. Narration is not loud enough. This is the second Tom Clancy book that was very difficult to hear unless the surrounding environment was very quiet.....even with volume at max!
