Suspenseful Alien Romance. This is the 2nd book by Ella Blake I've listened to from the Craving the Heveians series. Well developed book reflected in the performance by the female and male narrators. Kiki and Friend are rescued from imprisonment where he protected her from their fellow prisoners. Their connection and his feral status from the torture and modifications by their captors give their rescuers much to overcome. Jorok, one of the doctors from the rescue party, holds Kiki's attention. While on an errand run together, they are mistakenly kidnapped by a group looking for a different couple. Their current captors are plagued by an illness ravaging the crew. Fortunately, Jorok's medical skills are useful in negotiating for their lives. Tasked with healing those crew members sick from an unknown illness, Jorok and Kiki work together to prevent further infections and heal the afflicted, while trying to remain alive to escape their captors. Kiki's past is revealed and Jorok finally allows himself to fall for her as she has fallen for him. A bit graphic in regards to the illness the crew is suffering from. But if you can get past that, a good read. My criticism isn't with the book, but with the Audiobooks functioning. It is irritating not being able to access the book menu and navigating between and within chapters.

A rivetting tale narrated with multilayered emotions and making the reader engrossed in the story. Although we only met Kiki in the last book, she and Jorok make an important discovery vital to the futures of both their planets in this book. It’s a fun, fast paced tale, with plenty of action, a little romance, and some very important for the series events. An enthralling sci-fi romance,a gread addiction to the series that is sure to be enjoyed by SFR lovers and fans of the author.
