Unabridged Audiobook
I love all of James Herriot's books. Funny, heartwarming, so entertaining.
A great book! I love James Herriot's way of writing!
This series leaves me speechless. Every word Herriot shares with the reader is a treat. One of the few audiobooks I will keep and reread (re-listen) to. And the reader is wonderful.
The stories of this veterinary surgeon are inspired and well written; Christopher Timothy's performance is superb. A favorite audiobook.
Excellent book. What an author James Herriot was. I could read a thousand of his books. Funny.
Fantastic stories and wonderful insight in to people. The reader couldn't be better. I highly recommend James Herriot books to all animal lovers.
This book like the 1st 2 of this series that I listened to was wonderful. So fun and the reader just couldn,t have been better he made the story just come alive
Heart warming stories to keep you smiling and laughing. Having lived around livestock, I can truly relate to many of his stories. I love this book.
This book is an excellent read! I would recommend it to all people who love animals. It made me tear up quite a few times, and made me laugh outloud on numerous occasions... I "read" audiobooks in my car on my way to work, and, believe it or not, I was actually looking forward to my 1hr commute while "reading" this book! One thing that bothered me a bit is the narrator's accent. Since English is not my native language, I had difficlties understanding him at times. However, I don't think it would pose any problem for native speakers.
A very heart warming book. Because of the heavy British/Irish accent, it wasn't until the second CD that I realized the author's talking about being a vet. I drive 2 hours to work daily and I was teary most of the way. It's a great reading for animal lovers.
I loved this story and especially the narrator. Christopher Timothy played James Herriott in the made for British TV episodes and it takes me back to my childhood to hear his voice reading the book. Fabulous story line and fabulously read. I have ordered the other 2 books in the series.
These stories are delightful and timeless and the narration of them is so remarkable it is better than watching TV. By all means read them. You don't have to be an animal lover, to love these stories.
I've read this book twice before. It is lovely, gentle, and entertaining. However, when I saw all Herriot's books were read by the same irritating narrator, I cancelled them ASAP. If you can take a Cockney accent to read a Yorkshire book, then by all means don't miss out, however, it drove me nuts.
Very light and amusing sweet stories. Very entertaining.
