Very enjoyable and interesting story--a hero with physical disabilities who overcomes the limitations with determination and a measure of grace was a nice change. I can't relate to the cruelty displayed by Branson's father, although, I have seen parents treat their "imperfect" children as if the disability was evidence of their own failure. Branson was such an honorable man and succeeded, not necessarily in spite of his disability but probably because of it. His friends, particularly Finn, are a kick. Great narrator enhanced the story
Very moving Bran is so businesslike. So in tune with his head, but what about his heart? He is so insecure about himself, that he won me over in a heartbeat. Amazing. It touched my heart. It moved me. I could only give 5 stars; it deserves 10. There are a lot of books out there, but this one really stood out for me; it was something special. Different, in a good way. I recommend this to everyone who loves a good romance! The narrator had a soft-spoken, sweet voice that suited the story in a great way. Very clear. The only minor thing was the volume. She spoke very softly for the descriptive bits, but quite a bit louder when she did the voices, the conversations I mean. I had to turn the volume way up for the soft-spoken bits and then when they argued, it was booming through my ears. She did a really good job, she has such a pleasant voice, it’s just that difference in volume that was a bit too much. If she makes those two volumes more equal it’d be really great!
