Summary
A sickness has claimed the kingdoms of men. Everyone is either sick or dying, weak to a curse that has no cure—except for me. I’m immune to this mysterious illness, and I do my best to heal the sick and ease the pain of the dying. I was supposed to marry the Prince of Raventower, but after his father and elder brother succumbed to the sickness, he’s now king—and can only marry someone of his station. Kingsnake, King of Vampires and Lord of Darkness, marches upon our gates and demands a handful of our healthiest citizens. The vampires have always stuck to their lands, but their lack of food has made them desperate. King Elias not only succumbs to his demands—he offers me on the condition that Kingsnake never return. The man I loved betrayed me—and will feed me to a monster. Prisoner to the vampire king, I witness his cruelty and malice first-hand. I knew I would hate him, but I didn’t know how much I would hate him. The feeling is mutual, because I can feel the emotions of those around me, and his emotions burn with rage anytime he’s in my presence. But the second he tastes my blood, everything changes. His anger is replaced by an intensity I’ve never felt in my life. It’s so powerful it smothers me until I can’t breathe. His stare is like wildfire, so searing hot it makes my skin melt. I know he wants me—and he wants me more than anyone else ever has. Even the man I loved never wanted me like this… I would never sleep with a vampire…but Kingsnake is no ordinary vampire.

Too many sex episodes

This was essentially an erotic book with a little bit of plot and I don't think it was for me.

Very well done. Very sexy with still a good storyline.

After a quite boring and unsurprising fantasy book i started this one so my bar was very low to begin with. The book caught my interest at first: a medieval fantasy world threatened by a plague and there is only a vision of a cure thanks to a vampire king? Sign me in! But then reading longer and longer i grew so annoyed with the story, the writer and the readers as well and finished the book just because i feel the need to finish things. I thought it is a medieval world because of having a king, traveling on horse back, fighting with swords and having no medical care except some herbs. First i noticed the modern language of the characters using “guys” etc, then they had showers ?? and there was one point describing the dining hall that it was lit by candle lights despite having ELECTRICITY ??? And then the two main characters started to f*ck. The whole plot just flew out of the window and the book became just a written porn for white girls with easy but boring life. Once i started to skip the sex scenes in finished the book in 3 hours instead of 8 and it f course it did not even end anyhow just a neutral statement there is no cure. The narrators did a great job but unfortunately i grew so annoyed with the story i also started to resent their voices.

Great bit of fun to listen to

Meh….ending was just ugh, and the male narrator gave major ick vibes. Other than that great story except for how it was ended.

Female narrator was excellent. Male narrator gave me the ick.

Bodice ripper with a teenage girls voice. Could barely get through a few chapters before deleting.

Well written, couldn’t stop listening

All I can say is YES YES YES this book had me giddy and smiling all through out the book. I loved it. It was not what I was expecting. It was much more.

I really liked the story and characters. Could do without the spicy scenes, the writing of them were cringe. The two rotating narrators gets confusing at times as they are both acting out all characters (very differently), would prefer if it was narrated by just one person.
