Unabridged Audiobook
I’m quite surprised this has such high ratings. Unfortunately, this book came off feeling way too close to Throne of Glass. From the hidden identity of noble to falling for a fae brute… it’s too close to SJM and her works.
I can’t wait to listen to the next one!
Enjoyed the story. The female narrator was great, but the male narrators voice was annoying.
So I read some bad reviews and didn’t have high expectations of this book. I only decided to read ( listen) to this cuz I got it with my free vip credit. However, I was very pleasantly surprised to really enjoy this book. It’s creative and has a new viewpoint on magic and the fae world. Some people said it’s a copy of ACOT. Not at all. I feel like whoever said that didn’t even read both books in order to say that: are there some similar aspects like magic and fae? Sure… but that is the point of the genre. But
This is the best fantasy romance I've listened to so far. What I loved:1. The main characters are genuinely not attracted to each other in the beginning2a. All the supporting characters get a back story which makes them feel part of the plot and not just NPCs2b. Healthy family relationships are depicted3. The female voice actor does an incredible job conveying emotion through her inflexions4. The adventure part is at the forefront and the love plot is secondary5. The heroine has a well developed character arc from naive teen left in the wind to a person ready to murder evil doers and sacrifice her own life6. The spicy scenes make sense and actually have a purpose in furthering the plot7. The plot is not short on unexpected turns that had me biting my nails
absolutely loved this book. slow burn but it picks up pace in the series. love this series.
I really enjoyed the writing. I loved the plot of the scared almost victim turn heroine. The female voice actor did a great job, i feel like she really embodied her fmc well. the male voice actor did a great job with everyone (imo) except for the mmc... Maybe he was supposed to be pompous and arrogant, but I found myself not really rooting for him and even rolling my eyes *and getting the ick during the spicy scenes from his pov..* he reminded me of Zapp Brannigan from Futurama I think I'm gonna skip the audiobook for the next one and just read it proper.
Very interesting story with a lot of twists 100% recommend it to others
Could not stop listening
great book. Can't wait to read the next one.
This book reminded me of the A Court of Thorns & Roses series. I really liked the characters and their development. Each chapter had me intrigued and needing to know what was going to happen next. Cannot wait to read the next book!
I loved it. I hate slow burn but love it so much. I'm surprised I hadn't heard of this book through BookTok. I'm immediately starting Book #2.
I loved it! It was everything I needed to stay entertained and the narrators did a wonderful job as well. I can't wait to listen to the rest!
Loved the book. can't wait to listen to the next one. didn't care to much for the narrators. the female was ok but the male narrator i could of done without
It's a fun book, nothing super deep or complicated, it's perfect to listen meanwhile doing housechores
Female narrator was great, male sounded very out of place. Overall, good listen, slow burn. Bit disappointed at all the build up for the "plan" and for it to feel rushed and lacking details during the execution of the plan.
Love this and i love the narrator
I really enjoyed this story. It had given me many surprises amd had me thinking of how it would be as a tv show or movie. The narrator Meg Sylvan was fantastic.
I throughly enjoyed this series!
