Unabridged Audiobook
So far, there are two books on Erdogan on this platform, both in German. I reckon this one is the more interesting and in depth account on the Turkish longtime leader. Yet the first two hours consist of largely superfluous normative framing by the Bulgarian author, who mostly functions in German academia. I mean it's what you perceive in the media all the time. Takes on authoritarianism and Turkish nationalism. Then, it starts to get interesting though, starting with a review of 90s reform efforts and international relations of Turkey. Unfortunately, the narrator, who is generally ok (narrating Dan Jones's books for example), is lame this time. You can easily follow the audiobook with a speed up of 1,25 to 1,5 to make it less tedious.
