Unabridged Audiobook
loved it. one of the best
The writer moves the story alone rather well! The narration is smooth and compelling! The story line keeps you interested and you feel the emotion of the character thanks to the story and narrative. I never felt the story stalled. Rather it moves with a flow that has purpose and direction. I recommend reading or listening to the book.
excellent book, as always. The narration didn’t always quite fit for me but to each their own.
it was okay it was worth the read
This book is simply bad, which is hard because I read the whole series through as a kid and thought them great books, right up to the final cliffhanger. I decided, as an adult that I would finish the series and listen to the final book after consuming them anew, maybe a decade and some change later. Four hours in on the first book and I can't... none of the story makes any sense. What does make sense is cringe, like the repeated unnecessary mention of naked children. There are a lot of those weird offhand quotes, not just vaguely pedo either. Some of them are homophobic, but most I've caught so far are about this weird Christian persicution theme on top of heavy anti semitism buried within off handed dialogue. FROM ADOLESCENT CHILDREN. Ender, humanity's "Chosen One" is basically a Marty Sue out the gate. No mistakes, all the disadvantages stacked against them, knows virtually everything at 6, and is determined to fight a war from before they where born. Then, at 6 Ender gets groomed by militaristic predators who boast about how they are "using" these children, repeatedly. Why? I give this 1 star because I legitimately feel dirty after rereading this.
Varied narrators enhance the storytelling of a great book!
I really enjoyed the book
