Summary
#1 NEW YORK TIMES BESTSELLER

Cassidy Hutchinson’s desk was mere steps from the most controversial president in recent American history, and she provides a riveting account of her extraordinary experience as an idealistic young woman thrust into the middle of a national crisis, where she risked everything to tell the truth about President Trump and some of the most powerful people who surrounded him.

Ever since a childhood visit to Washington, DC, Cassidy Hutchinson aspired to serve her country in government. Raised in a working-class family with a military background, she was the first in her immediate family to graduate from college. Despite having no ties to Washington, Hutchinson landed a vital position at the center of the Trump White House.

Her life took a dramatic turn on January 6th, 2021, when, at twenty-four, she found herself in one of the most extraordinary and unprecedented calamities in modern political history.

Hutchinson was faced with a choice between loyalty to the Trump administration or loyalty to the country by revealing what she saw and heard in the attempt to overthrow a democratic election. She bravely came forward to become the pivotal witness in the House January 6 investigations, as her testimony transfixed and stunned the nation. In her memoir, Hutchinson reveals the struggle between the pressures she confronted to toe the party line and the demands of the oath she swore to defend American democracy.

Enough reaches far beyond the typical insider political account. It’s the saga of a woman whose “bravery and patriotism” (Liz Cheney, former US Representative) helped her overcome childhood challenges to get her dream job, only to face a crisis of conscience—one that more senior White House aides tried to evade—and, in the process, find her voice and herself. As the New York Times noted, “In this age of political cowardice and self-dealing, it can be easy to forget that public service is supposed to be a noble calling...Cassidy Hutchinson reminded us what that looks like.” This is a portrait of how the courage of one person can change the course of history.

Cassidy Hutchinson was extremely brave. She deserves credit for doing the right thing, and exposing Donald Trump . She refused to be intimidated by the MAGA crowd. History will remember her for the brave woman with integrity.

She walked a road that most of us would fear to tread; such integrity is in short supply today.

She was so young and brave to come forward with the information that her fellow republican team tried to get her to cover up. The U.S. Constitution and her oath to serve her country was was above her friends, that took Trump above duty. Good luck and best wishes to Cassidy.

I found her writing style to be irritating and flawed. Her claims are preposterous.

I was inspired by Cassidy's honesr narrative. It gives me hope for the future of the USA, in the face of the blatant tribalism of Republicans who continue to follow an unhinged deluded despot. May the truth triumph as history continues to be written.

The title is descriptive of the author's situation. Very well narrated.

Too much self congratulation. Interesting perspective and I understand writing it was probably therapeutic but it’s not a book I will remember long term. I appreciate what she did and I will read what others have to say but I repeat myself saying too much self congratulation and I was really tired of reading it.

One more hero in the world.. too bad she is a Republican. We could use people like her working for the Democrates. Though it seems that politicians in general have lost their way.

Cassidy will go down in American history as an example of courage strength resilience for generations of young women. I enjoyed this book start to finish. Some day a young new author will rest her head on your shoulder and you will tell her “I understand you’re home”

Thank God for Cassidy and her book. And her awakening. What bravery. I wish someone with $ would send her book to every GOP congress member.

If ever anyone needed a ghostwriter it’s Ms. Hutchinson - honestly the wording is so juvenile, the only thing missing from each chapter is a “Dear Diary” opener!! I admire her strength for (finally) telling the truth at the hearings, although it’s clear now she had literally no where else to turn by the time she did. She comes across as painfully naive for the majority of the book, unreasonably impressed with herself for remembering people’s favourite candies or chocolates! I really wanted to read a story of a woman of grit, substance and innate strength and instead got a little girl telling a little girl story of the time she sat at the grown up table for a little while… She would have done herself more of a favour saying nothing and leaving her testimony stand alone!!

Such helpful insight. Clarity where clarity is badly needed. Finally, someone that values integrity! Refreshing. Bright star in our history. Others won’t appreciate her honesty now but they will see what she is saying is true sometime. Staunch republicans … you are fooled by the enemy of all of us. Do not be fooled. You are being duped. She shows you where you are being blinded. One smart woman who has a bright future ahead of her. Her mom raised a leader who is trying to shed light on the importance of telling the truth and being personally responsible for our actions. Period.

Very brave young woman who refused to be bullied by very powerful people and did a great service to her country by exposing the corruption in the Trump Administration and especially by Trump himself!

I loved this book. I'm a sucker for doing the right thing but Cassidy also "went thru some things" which increased my admiration for her. A real self made woman. All women should read it.

Compelling. A quiet voice in the wilderness narrating some negative consequences of electing a manipulative child man to an adult office of power. The book reminds the reader of the awesome human capacity to be able to change your mind when you see things change. It is a heartening story of the continuing existence of US conservatives still tethered to reality. I am deeply thankful for the courage she exercised.
