More of the same. Its value is in being unintentionally funny.

The narrator did not sound like a pro at all. Her impression of the male characters sounded very forced and unnatural to the point where it was distracting and almost comical. There were also glottal frys everywhere. (I admit this is a personal pet peeve of mine) Poorly-done accents as well. For such a high-profile book, I would have expected a better reader.

I enjoyed thus book. If I had to choose something negative about it, it would have to be Hiw many events and activities get jammed into a day or a week. I know some of the purpose is to show how fast the characters fall for each other so deeply, but come on, if all that happened in one week or each day after day, the characters would collapse from exhaustion. They should have spread their timeline out a bit In some ways the Anna character is so strong, but in some ways, when she should be showing how smart and string she is, she is unbelievably week. It is nice seeing into her mind and how she processes the things Christian says and does to her

I can definitely see what all the hype was about! I am so glad that I read the books before giving in to see the movies. So creative and descriptive! I thought the narration was good but was different or she sound different from the first book of the series, even though it was narrated by the same person. Just my opinion ☺️

Not bad. Could use less "oh my!" Character build up was good.

This was another great book! Can't wait to listen to the next one. I think that the Narrator did a great job.

Accents were still cringe worthy, but less breathy on the narration. Great book.

Such a good book and the narrator was enthusiastic and not monotone. Very pleased!

The narrator was wonder. I could visually see when she spoke. She was wonderful.

The book is great and I love the entire collection. The narrator could have done a better job with voices and pronouncing words correctly. Overall, I loved it and I am glad I tried audiobooks as a new source of reading. I will continue to use audiobooks in the future!

Becca does a great job and creating the story. There is a lot of repetition.

Profile Avatar
Wendy Moss

Very entertaining read. Listening while cleaning makes household chores not quite so tedious.

The story was great but there was so much repetition and the narration was distracting. I love stories about undeniable chemistry, the two people who find it together, and everything falls into place. The have great sex every chance and place they can. I feel like I should have read the book instead of listened to it because now I have certain phrases burned to memory because of the repetition in the story. "He runs his hand through his hair", "I bite my lip", "oh, Christian", "oh shit", "he scowls at me", "come", and the list goes on. I was finally able to focus on the story instead of the narrator's voice when new characters were introduced. All the men sounded the same except Mac from Northern Ireland who sounded Australian. Mrs. Robinson's condescending or whiny "voice" made me cringe like listening to nails on a chalkboard. Dr. Gray's "voice" was a forced proper voice but occasionally sounded like Mrs. Robinson. Mia was probably The most natural sounding "voice" from the narrator. The other women sounded the same. Even Ana, whose voice I assume the narrator used her natural voice, seemed depressed, very California, and almost monotone.

Becca Battoe is an awesome reader. She does the voices and everything.

I love the 50 shades stories, they did a wonderful job. I will buy more.

One of the best love stories told. The narrator is very talented. She should do more.

Profile Avatar
Shara Jones

Made me crave for "more". l liked this book even more than the first one. The ending was such a shock, I couldn't wait to delve into the third one.

Profile Avatar
Kristen Citan

I actually liked this one more than the 1st book. So I guess the last will be great! The ending to this book was great also!

Profile Avatar
Margie Brigham

Only 4 stars for narration because I think a male voice would have been better for the male dialogue.

Profile Avatar
Shana Bowen

Repeated use of the word gape, glare, and gaze, drove me nuts! Every other sentence was "he glared at me," "he's gaping at me," blah blah. Did not like the book at all. Too many major events occurring to be a fluent story line. I wish I could give this a negative rating. I kept wishing for the book to be over only to find there were literally hours left. It dragged on and on and on... will not read the third book.

Loved it. It was equal to the first one...i'm off to the third

Profile Avatar

Really great story! Just as good as the first! As messed up as he is, he has so much love to give! Looking forward Fifty Shades Freed

Profile Avatar
Chris Shaw

I believe it needs a male voice during the male characters it would sound more life like and as far as the narrator goes on the ladies parts, she is good. James is a very descriptive writer so it's almost as if I can close my eyes and be there. More romantic than people think.

Profile Avatar
Dionne COSTON

Amazing read... Very romantic. The narration was perfect.

Profile Avatar
Katherine Janes

Very good. Narration was great, but would have preferred male voices when appropriate. Love the story. Clarity and quality are incredible.

I absolutely love this app! Due to a neck injury, it is very difficult to read a book the typical way. Finding audiobooks has been such a welcomed treat, something I have been needing for a long time! This book in particular is wonderful, I highly recommend. It transports me to a different world entirely and I greatly appreciate that.

Profile Avatar

Very good! I saw the first movie without reading the book and I had to listen to this book because it was intriguing. It's a bit vulgar but it get your attention!

Profile Avatar
Wendy williams

I think this was a great book and the narration was on point. Can't wait for the next read.

Profile Avatar
Tresa Lindo

I enjoyed this narrator, she was witty and captured each emotion exactly! Kudos

Profile Avatar
Ashley Mckinney

Most people think these books are just about sex but the romance is great. I listened to it every moment I got and immediately downloaded the third book.

Profile Avatar
Casey Butler

I wish I could have given this book half of a star or no star at all. The book had some high points but overall it was a bore. If only the writer could have taken the high points and given us a great story line. I would not be listening to book three or watching the movie any time soon.

Profile Avatar

let me just say I saw the movie first before reading the books and I hated the movie but reading these books I have fallen in love with the trilogy I even re watched the movie and it was ten times better having have read the book. I love Christian dark mysterious tho a bit controlling and over the top for my taste but this one was more romance and letting us have a more insight look on why he is the way he is....I seriously can't wait for the third book and 2nd movie which upsets me is not till 2017

Profile Avatar

Had me on the edge of my seat throughout the whole book! I listen while I'm at work as I do data entry and I find myself looking around to see if anyone notices my arousal! It's a naughty thrill! DEFINETLY listening to the third book then Grey! I can't wait to hear what happens next! A must read! Or listen if you will!

Profile Avatar

Profile Avatar
Fran Wiltberger

Love the fifty shades series would have liked Christian's part done by a man. Still liked the book though

Profile Avatar
Bianca Ethridge

Love this book! The girls voice isn't my favorite.. Well, just her impersonation of Grey, but I love the story and the scenes! ????

Profile Avatar
Stacey Bridges

Would have been better with male for male voices love it..............

Profile Avatar
Karla Feliciano

I love this book. The one thing I'd change is the narration instead of having just a female speak all the parts have males involved, a male for Grey and a male with an accent for Jose. Things like that I think would make it an even better book to listen to.

Profile Avatar
jeffery dowdy

love it! I've listened to it over and over! I just recently started reading them, and I can't get enough now.

Profile Avatar
Shanley McNeil

Love love love LOVE this book. <3 It shows the love they have and that Christian is in fact not the monster he is semi portrayed to be in the first book. Narration in this book is amazing though! I LOVE this narrator - she actually talks like this is real and makes it very real feeling. Best narration I've heard on this app so far!! I love her different voices and emotions put into it. It's so realistic! Love it!! Great job! :)

I didn't read the first book. After watching the movie I had to read the second book. Can't stop listening, addicting. Thank god for audiobooks for the instinct gratification. Love the twists and turns as Christian and Ana's relation grows. 3 book on download!

Profile Avatar
brittany baker

i love these books they are amazing! !!!! i can't wait until the movie comes out although i do wish it would come out as a series instead of a movie but either way im super excited cant wait

Profile Avatar
Mariflor Santos

I like this better than the first book. The first one had a sad ending

Profile Avatar
Jodi Metzler

Overall it was very good. The only thing that would make it even better is have a women reading the females and a man doing the men, even though she tried sounding like a man it would to me just make it seem real and so much better if there was a man to do the man character voice.

Profile Avatar
Ann jorgenson

It seemed to skip around a few times. The narration either has a good amount of emotion or none at all. I also don't like how she always makes Mr.Grey sound cold. But then again I couldn't do any better.

Profile Avatar
Jennifer Snider

Hard for a women to play a mans voice I giggled a lot but overall it was good!

Profile Avatar
Jeri Lawy

Becca changed her voice from book one. I enjoyed her voice on the first book. No sure why she changed. :( still nice to have the audio version so I can worry about other things while listening.
