Unabridged Audiobook
Although this is a long book (35+ hours), every minute is rich with facts and insightfull interpretation of Mexico's sweeping history. I retired to Mexico six years ago and was looking for a comprehensive history of this country (available in my native English), and this book appeared. Thankfully! Mexico was inhabited druing the last Ice Age and is the birth place of rich, ancient civilations (Tolmecs, Zapotecs, Maya, Azteces, and the Spanish-500 years ago. It's vast history is thus complex and intriguing. Fire & Blood provides a rich and comprehensive overview; I'll surely repeat many sections of this book as interest arises. I also plan to buy a printed copy. The narrator, Timothy Andrés Pabon, is excellent, with acurate pronunciation in the many native languages (example, Nauhuatl)-and Spanish. His English is pleasant and flawless. The ambitious scope and quality of Fire & Blood deserves 5-stars.
