Summary
Harrison Wynn

Even though I'm the oldest player on the farm team, I'm playing my heart out this year to prove that I have what it takes to compete in the NHL. Everyone expects me to live up to my dying hockey hero dad's legacy, but my chances are receding every season. What I need is to focus, but the team's new yoga instructor is a major distraction; I've had my eye on her from the first time we met. Except she's not interested-okay, maybe actively disinterested-since I accidentally dumped her into the ocean during our paddleboard yoga class. How can I prove to her-and to the NHL-that I'm worth taking a chance on?

Arya Ross

Men are the last thing I need in my life. Yoga is my priority; it helps me center myself and heal my soul. But I can't turn down the once-in-a-lifetime offer to be the personal yoga instructor for the local hockey team. Sure, there are some cute players-including Harrison Wynn, who seemingly won't take no for an answer, and whose boyish smile and sexy charm are hard to resist. He seems genuine, and I wonder . . . Can I put my past behind me to start a future with him?

The story was really good with strong characters. The narrator did a great job with the material.

Harrison is one of the veterans on the farm team and he knows that if he doesn’t crack the NHL lineup soon then it won’t happen. He is determined to make the most of what could be his last opportunity but between family pressures and the woman he can’t seem to forget that is easier said than done. Ayra is a yoga instructor who isn’t interested in a relationship and doesn’t trust her judgment when it comes to men. When Harrison attends her class he always manages to add some fun and although she originally resists she is drawn to him in a way that she can’t deny. Both Harrison and Ayra are affected by their pasts in different ways as Harrison is afraid he doesn’t measure up so he doesn’t always try while Ayra’s past has made her cautious and the only way they can have a future together is if they are willing to open up their hearts and lives to each other. I thought that the narrators did a great job of vocalizing the emotion of the story and the characters.

This is the story of Harrison Wynn, another brother in the famous Wynn hockey family, and his pursuit of his lady love, Arya. Note: there is a trigger warning at the end of the review. Harrison is written and narrated as an eager man who falls in love practically at first sight. Arya is much more reserved and much more cautious, and turns him down flat to start. She's not interested in a relationship right now. Frankly, Harrison wasn't looking for love, either, but he's not willing to pass it up when it smacks him in the face. This is a well-written, well-narrated book. Alexander Cendese can come across as overly eager in some of his narrations, but it definitely fits the tone of this novel and this character and enhances the story. Kasha Kensington also portrays Arya with a level of vulnerability that is perfect for the role. TRIGGER WARNING: Be forewarned - if stalking is a trigger for you, you may want to skip this book. Harrison, the male lead, is NOT a stalker by any means, and his actions are totally innocent and are just that of a man quickly falling in love, but they can be misconstrued.
