A Featured Alternate Selection of the Literary Guild and Doubleday Book Club and a Main Selection of the Mystery Guild
Janet Evanovich, bestselling author of One for the Money, Two for the Dough, and Three to Get Deadly, scores big with Four to Score, her most thrilling Stephanie Plum adventure yet. Working for her bail bondsman cousin Vinnie, Stephanie is hot on the trail of revenge-seeking waitress Maxine Nowicki, whose crimes include bail jumping, theft, and extortion. Someone is terrifying Maxine's friends, and those who have seen her are turning up dead. Also on the hunt for Maxine is Joyce Barnhardt, Stephanie's archenemy and rival bounty hunter. Stephanie's attitude never wavers-- even when aided by crazy Grandma Mazur, ex-hooker and wannabe bounty hunter Lula, and transvestite rock musician Sally Sweet-- and even when Stephanie makes an enemy whose deadly tactics escalate from threatening messages to firebombs. All of this pales in comparison, though, with an even greater danger Stephanie faces, when, homeless and broke, she and her hamster Rex move in with a vice cop Joe Morelli. RATED PG35 for licentious wit and libidinous cohabitation.

After having read a few Jamie Swift stories, it was like taking a step back to get into the Stephanie Plum "head" again. But, I have to say, once I did, I enjoyed this story as much as the first three Plum books. This one made me laugh out loud several times. I love the romance with Joe and the kooky characters Evanovich conjures up. Regardless, I'm hooked on the continuation of the main characters from book to book. It keeps me coming back for more. Good job lady!

The first three I loved. The narrator was great. This narration seems dull. Narrator seems too old and will take getting used to.

Great book but I don’t like this narrator nearly as much as the first 3 books! Why would they change to someone who sounds so old by comparison?

  • Stephanie B.

Aside from the narrator sounding a little too old to be Stephanie Plum, she is by far my favorite to listen to. Each characters voice is distinct and she doesn't read too fast. This is a great series to listen to while working!

I love her great characters. Even funnier than than the one before. The book makes you happy. It makes you laugh. And oh by the way, it is a great murder mystery.

Narrator is too old for Stephanie plum . But other then that this book made me start wanting to actually read books. Normally I'm not the person to sit and read a book but I have sat down and read 1-4 almost and they are amazing

Another great book she and her friends cracked me up plus her flirty way she is with the man I'm her life

I am a fan of the Stephanie Plum I much prefer CJ Britt as narrator. I am so glad added the rest of these books so I can listen to them. I have read all of the Plum series and enjoyed them so much I decided to come back and listen to them on here. Janet is one talented writer.

I won't say the narrator RUINED the book, but she certainly wasn't up to the previous standard. I did eventually get used to her voice but she sounded way too old to portray the heroine.

I really enjoyed the first 3 of Janet Evanovich's books because the story was fun, and the narrator was FANTASTIC. This one however is TERRIBLE, because of the narrator. She has no depth, no variation, every sentence she reads is the same - just awful. Please bring back the darling, wonderful gal, with the Jersey accent and he exceptional talent for narration. This one is coming back to you, unfinished. Bummer!
