This was an outstanding read! Packed with great information from the inside - personalties, thought processes, egos, and a disheartening episode. The clear star of the book was Henry Knudsen - it's very apparent the author holds a lot of respect for him, but it's not overdone. This is a great read on how we won the war - before the military even got started! The narration was excellent.

Superb experience to live the story of US war mobilization, captains of industry teaming with a liberal left government that did not loose its mind.

One of the most enlightening books I’ve ever come across. The idea, championed by people like Knudsen and Kaiser was that Americans are ingenious and adaptive. The capitalistic system with its rewards for success is something the autocratic and totalitarian states will never understand. Knudsen’s ability to get government to “fund industry and get out of the way” was nothing short of heroic. Recommended without reservation for all Americans.
