Unabridged Audiobook
Absolutely love this series! Book 3 did not disappoint!
My thoughts: I love absolutely everything Ana Huang writes and this book certainly met my expectations! The narration was a 4/5 , only because I’ve heard better narrators and found myself tuning them out at times so I had to go back and replay the chapter to keep up. However, I think they were perfect for the characters Kris and Nate- they matched their vibes completely. I liked this book to where i turned around and had to order the physical copy to add to my shelf! Go give this one a read (of listen)!
I’ve been wanting to read this author for some time and finally did, and I cannot say I was disappointed. This is technically the 3rd book in the series but can be read as a standalone as well. I’m planning on going back to read the first two now that I’ve finished this one. Ok, so these two characters have somewhat of an insta spark but make an arrangement that is not meant for the two of them to seek out that spark. Yet I think it was impossible for them not to. I feel like the heroine has a bit of a personality change the longer and more she spends with the hero and he seems to figure things out as well that help him in his life. There is quite a bit of surprises in this book that had me in a “wait, what?” Mind frame and it was great. I always enjoy books that can surprise me completely from what I thought. I thought the ending was great and definitely had me loving the characters more for all they went through by the end.
This one was a fun twist on a rich/poor romance with the FMC being the one with money. These two are hilarious together and I love the way they are snarky with each other, and then switch to spicy talk right in the middle of it. The story itself will pull you in and make you want to know where it goes and keep you interested as more is revealed. Definitely give this one a try! The audiobook was really well done and is a fun listen!
This cute love story is the opposite of the normal. It was nice to read something where the girl has all the money and the guy is broke. I had a love hate relationship with Kris in this story some of the things she said was typical rich girl. However she did make up for it in other ways. I liked the evil stepmother drama. I listen to the Audio and they did a great job expressing the emotions and brought the characters to life. I do think that some chapters Cindy Kay read would have been better suited for Aiden Snow.
These narrators were so good and easy to listen to. I was not feeling invested in the story until around 3 1/2 hrs in and it was the narrators that kept me from stopping this one. I am so glad I made that decision. In the beginning, I didn’t feel the chemistry between Kris and Nate and it felt like the story was going to be predictable but I was so wrong. I ended up loving Kris. She has such an amusing personality and I love her obsession with expensive things but it’s written in a way that is fun and cute instead of obnoxious and annoying. Nate is the perfect combination of alpha and sensitive and I felt the love he had for Kris easily. This story was so beautiful in the end and was a great example for family redemption and love.
I received this as an audiobook from Valentine Pr in exchange for my honest opinion. Chris was raised with a silver spoon in her mouth. Nate was born to a family that had to fight to make ends meet. His mother died when he was young, then his dad became an alcoholic, leaving Chris to take care of his younger sister Skylar. Chris volunteers with an organization mentoring young women. Chris is paired up with Skylar where they form a tight bond. Chris and Nate agree to fake date, while Nate tries to seduce Chris’s soon to be mother in law, so her dad will break up with her…. This had it all: -fake dating -second chance -heiress/average Joe -strong female characters -slow burn -spicy
When put in a compromising situation, Nate and Kris discover different sides of each other. Over time, they grow in understanding and realise they're alike. The backchat, frustration, and growth in their understanding led to them building trust and through that, you see a side of each of them that they kept hidden. It was not what I expected with this book there was so much feeling and humour, when it came to Nate and Kris' connection, relationship and friendship it blow my emotions away.
