Summary
THE FIRST NOVEL IN LEE CHILD'S #1 NEW YORK TIMES BESTSELLING JACK REACHER SERIES—NOW AN ORIGINAL SERIES ON PRIME VIDEO!

“From its jolting opening scene to its fiery final confrontation, Killing Floor is irresistible.”—People

Ex-military policeman Jack Reacher is a drifter. He’s just passing through Margrave, Georgia, and in less than an hour, he’s arrested for murder. Not much of a welcome. All Reacher knows is that he didn’t kill anybody. At least not here. Not lately. But he doesn’t stand a chance of convincing anyone. Not in Margrave, Georgia. Not a chance in hell.

A nice first book in the Jack Reacher series by Lee Child. The book was entertaining and Jack's character is easy to like and connect with. There were however several critical flaws in the story line and plot, which made some of the plot twists unrealistic and very sketchy. As a first book, this can be understandable and maybe common. Will give Jack Reacher another try. Audiobook narration however was often painful to hear, especially when narrating the female voices like Officer Roscoe and others. It would clearly have been better or easier to have a few different narrators for the male and female parts.

Very good book! I enjoyed it a great deal. Narrator is very talented. I did think his voice sounded a little old.

Decent. #2 is better.

The book was very slow and very predictable. And the narration did not help the slowness. The narrator spoke, so slowly drove me crazy.

I needed a bit of time to get into the story - my fault, I guess, as the narration started AFTER Reacher had been released from jail. I did get caught up and into the suspense. A thrilling, suspenseful storyline. A bit too much casual killing, however for my take - hence four stars. I am looking forward to the second book in the series.

It was a good read. Some spots seem to drag a bit. I liked it though.

One of the earliest Reacher books after stating on his later books. Discovered a little bit about his family… brother Joe. As always, Dick Hill is fabulous as narrator!

Absolutely loved it! Reacher is addicting for sure. Dick hill is the best voice for this series, I'm absolutely captivated by Reacher and Dick Hills voice!! can't wait to listen to all of them.

Good story and plot for a late 90s book. The pace of the story was good and I didn’t find myself stuck in low-points. The narrator, for me, sucked some of the life of the story away. I was not able to envision some of the characters’ having the voice that the narrator gave them; especially the female voices.

The story was good but the narration was so dull it did not capture our attention. A waste of time and resources.

This was a very good book. Not like Tom Cruise movies but bing an ex army soldier. I could understand the training of his character. It was very entertaining . I loved the twist and turns that Lee Child used in the book.

This book made me think I was reading a fantasy novel for men. Seemed a bit on the ridiculous side to me and quite pompous. Narrator was paired well to it. Quite dramatic and pompous narration.

I really enjoyed this book. I have read several of the Jack Reacher books and love his character. Lee Child gives him life, personality and believability. I didn't realize it was Mr. Child's first Reacher book, but I don't care about that. I read a book when presented with the opportunity. I, too, have a serious problem with the narrator. His voice, while giving very good narration, sounded old. This made it difficult to listen to. It's just like the Jack Reacher movie. A 6'4" man being played by one barely over 5'. I won't even go see the movie. Mr. Child, please put more thought into the people who portray this very lifelike character of yours.

Lee Child's Jack Reacher is always a good read. Some stories, however, are better than others , i.e., the difference from solid B to A+. The Killing Floor was good (a B+ in my mind). Itt did drag at times. I would like it to have been a tighter story. Throughout, however, there were plenty of Jack Reacher comments that stood out and which makes him a special read .
