This is an excellent book on body language. Authors Allan and Barbara Pease give a definitive overview on body language. The book goes into painstaking detail, talking about various parts of the body and the gestures they can make, different social situations and how body language can affect it, and the deeper psychological meaning behind body language.

This book is great. From the minute I picked it up I could not stop reading it. It is written in a way that is not boring, so it makes it really easy to read. It was fun reading about the body language that I use, and how I am perceived by others because of it. It was great learning how the things we do with our bodies can change social interactions, or help us to understand other people better. This book can be useful to anyone, and I highly recommend it.

Throughout the book, the author provides scientific explanations for why a certain type of body language is connected with a certain emotion. It not only drives his points home but also makes it hard for me to forget what I read.

I would recommend this book to whoever wants to start learning body language. This is my first book ever to read on body language. When I picked up this book, I was particularly curious about how to read signals in social encounter. This book not only answered my questions but also helped me to understand the significance of body language in various situations such as business negotiations, job interviews and politics.

a great read that you can start at any chapter, and that made me more aware of my own & other ppl's body language. I even taught a couple workshops on the subject, mostly based on this books content

I love that a lot of it is based in evolutionary psychology. Makes much of it seem like common sense. Sometimes I question the source of their research & results, or if some parts are actually based in research since it's not always mentioned.

The authors give the body a very lighthearted feel and inject plenty of humor into it to prevent from turning to a dry read. The book even gives a helpful exam at the end.

Manipulation is the conscious act of causing someone to do a certain thing or act in a certain way. Manipulation is clever, skillful, and sometimes unscrupulous. Manipulation is not always a bad thing. The clay bowl created in an art class was made from clay that was manipulated by someone’s hands. The doctor put the broken bone back into place by using manipulation. The snowman was built by the hands of children who manipulated the snow into place. overall it is easy to understand and excellent guide.
