Unabridged Audiobook
Loved being sucked into this story. Great characters, great narrator!
Definitely not Miss Marple or Agatha Christie. It’s not a bad story once you drop any expectations but it is so long winded. There is too much detail that doesn’t contribute to the plot such in depth details of Anna-Maj cooking & food in general. This may suit some readers but I’m sorry but I won’t be reading the rest of the series. The narrator was good which is the only reason I made it to the end. I’d be happy to listen to Joan Walker again.
I liked it! Puts me in mind of the Thursday Murder Club Mysteries by Robert Osman. Old codgers solving crimes, just like the original: Miss Marple. Fun and lightweight if you don't mind that it's a gruesome murder mystery. Looking forward to the next installment.
Becomes quite interesting toward the end but the first half is slow. A bit too much talk about ailments.
Narration was good. At the start I did wonder if I had downloaded the wrong book as the description of food preparation went on a bit too long. This became a bit of a theme through out which I found a bit distracting. However, I did enjoy the main theme. Rather like a Danish Miss Marple and would like to listen to more.
