Summary
Nevernight is the first in an epic new fantasy series from the New York Times bestselling author, Jay Kristoff.

In a land where three suns almost never set, a fledgling killer joins a school of assassins, seeking vengeance against the powers who destroyed her family.

Daughter of an executed traitor, Mia Corvere is barely able to escape her father’s failed rebellion with her life. Alone and friendless, she hides in a city built from the bones of a dead god, hunted by the Senate and her father’s former comrades. But her gift for speaking with the shadows leads her to the door of a retired killer, and a future she never imagined.

Now, a sixteen year old Mia is apprenticed to the deadliest flock of assassins in the entire Republic — the Red Church. Treachery and trials await her with the Church’s halls, and to fail is to die. But if she survives to initiation, Mia will be inducted among the chosen of the Lady of Blessed Murder, and one step closer to the only thing she desires.

Revenge.

Great book. Narrator is one of the best I have listened to.

I would recommend this book to everyone. I loved listening to this book, it was captivating to the end. The narration is perfect, I don't know if they could have made a better choice.

This is the story of a villain, some would say an antihero, but our protagonist is darker than that. The story has so much depth and switch backs and connections it reminds me of a well made weaving. The narrator was fenomenal and probably would have put the book down before finishing it if it wasn’t for his intriguing delivery. As I have said, the story is dark. I have listened to many of his narrations and this one was pure art to say the least.

I can't get enough of this series. I have gone back multiple times to revisit it. The footnotes first felt like such a drag but honestly once I got engrossed in the tale I barely even noticed them. So glad I randomly happened upon it.

The book is quite entertaining. I love the characters and the narrator does a great job of bringing them to life. my only complaint, and I may just be splitting hairs here, but his mic seems to pick up a lot of...mouth sounds(?) at the end of some of the sentences. Once I heard it, it was hard to ignore.

I CANNOT STRESS THIS ENOUGH; un-real. So good and I loved the audiobook way better than the actual hard copy because of how the footnotes were read. I really loved this - I got the second one right after

This book was excellent but not for the faint of heart. Be ready for an adventure full of blood, gore, sex, violence and shadows.

First the narration was a little hard to follow but once you get the idea behind it, it makes a ton of sense, listen to the story and there is meaning to what is happening the story is amazing, very captivating and pulls you in, the climax was something I had to keep listening and couldn't stop.

It is an AMAZING book with a very interesting plot. The setting of the book is so different and intriguing it draws the listener in. Not only is there a good plot but also great character development. Overall and amazing book!

The book is fairly well written. Not amazing prose, but often clever and some of the humor really worked. The story is interesting, but very very dark. By the end of the book, I found that there weren't any characters I actually liked, so it made the stakes in the climax non-existent for me. It ends up being just a bunch of terrible people killing each other in incredibly gruesome detail. Think Mortal Kombat in novel form and you have an idea of what the gore level's like. I'm sure it's written for people who aren't me. Maybe even I would have been the target audience when I was in middle school, but it just really wasn't for adult me.

Just had 29 minutes of this and suddenly realized I’d bought a soft porn novel, don’t be mistaken into thinking this is a serious fantasy novel. It’s not, it’s an unbearable meandering pose pretending to be something it’s not.

Loved every minute of it!!!!

Found the main character to be fairly generic. Until I found out that the guy she lost her virginity to for no reason in the first chapter was one of the men who killed her father when she was a child. I couldn’t relate to anything after that.

I really enjoyed this book, I was captivated right away! Can't wait to jump into the next one! The only negative was that I really did not like the narration at all, so I've decided to read the second book instead of listening to it.

very funny, and action packed. a no holds barred look at the beginning of a young assassins life, filled with genuine emotion, humor, and teenaged hormones. 9.5 out of 10
