Unabridged Audiobook
I love this sequel - again the narrator excelled!
A thoroughly enjoyable sequel to "The Secret Lives of Country Gentlemen." The author has created a vivid living portrait of early 19th century Kent. The book is rich with local "color" and dialect. Its main characters are complex and driven by their past and yet take charge of their lives, going against the "norms" of their times and culture. There are several surprising elements which add to the richness of the book. I could not say if all the dialogue is authentic ( particularly regarding swear words), but it fits the characters. KJ Charles has created characters whom I would love to meet and describes a olace i. England I would love to visit. The narrator, Martin Swain, is superb at his art.
