Unabridged Audiobook
I enjoyed my first Charles Dickens book, but considering its length, and the fact that the story drags at times, I’m glad to be moving on to my next book! That said, there were quite a few humorous circumstances and dialogue, good lessons to be learned, and the story ends in a satisfactory way. Good narration, with the exception of track 62, which was so hard to understand that I only got about 1/3 of it.
The plot was very involved but understandable when you realise it was serialised over 19 months in Dickens day. By the end of book 4 it was really good, keep going and don’t give up! Narration was by so many varied people, some were pretty awful, reading too fast with no attention to commas and stops, others were reading like school children and improved over time. I suppose as it’s free audio books that’s to be expected
