Unabridged Audiobook
I am a huge fan of Elizabeth Peters and while this book is not up to the standards of the ones she wrote, the author did a very good job. I consider Barbara Rosenblatt the "Meryl Streep" of narrators and she does a wonderful job with this series and the many accents and voices. Her male voices are first rate and her love of her job is evident in her performances. If you are new to this series, find the first book(Crocodile in the Sandbank) and listen in order, you will love them. I had no interest in Egypt when starting this series, but I have learned a lot and learned to appreciate the mystery, history, character development, humor, and dialogue that marks Ms. Peters as my favorite author.
To be honest, to me it is very apparent Elizabeth Peters is gone. I enjoyed most of the story but it was not the same as her previous novels. I am glad however for the work of the co-author but I will probably not listen to this book again. It just doesn't have the same feeling as the other Amelia P. Emerson series. Barbara Rosenblat is always a wonderful narrator and performer.
