Summary
Benny Imura’s town is infested with zombies—the scourge of society. But a surprising series of events bring Benny to question who the real monsters are.

Everyone knows kids have to get a job by the time they turn 15 to keep full food rations, and Benny’s deadline is looming. He despises zombies as much as anyone—his parents were killed by them—but Benny figures it’ll be boring whacking zoms for cash.
Yet when he becomes his brother’s apprentice, he discovers there’s more to hunting than he thought … and more to life than he imagined.

Through Benny’s transformation from apathy to understanding, multiple Bram Stoker Award–winning author Jonathan Maberry tells a moving tale of inner transformation.

“Thrilling, enticing, and surprisingly touching, Rot & Ruin will grip readers from beginning to end. …”—Heather Brewer, bestselling author

The first-book in the series. A great read at time predictable and other times out a left field takes you on a very interesting path of live after the zombie apocalypse starts. If your looking for a good read look no further. A satisfying ending and a enjoyable storyline.

The writer does a great job of creating realistic dialogue, and interesting characters that invest the reader. But that’s all he does. The book is almost all dialogue, even at points in the plot where it becomes frankly silly for the characters to still be chattering away. Nonetheless I enjoyed it.

Fun story, with a few twists away from "traditional" zombie story plots.

Such a great read!! I’m an avid zombie fan and have listened to my fair share of zombie books. It’s nice to listen to a story that isn’t filled with swearing, sex and violence (although some violence considering the source is understandable). The storyline was strong and you really get to like the main characters. I’m looking forward to following through with the 2nd book in the series!
