Unabridged Audiobook
Loved loved loved best series.
I can not finish the book I couldn’t get into it
I am becoming an Audiobook junkie, something I would have never believed until about 3 months ago. As I am still new to this kind of reading I may not get the full appreciation of a narrated story. I will give you my honest opinion on how this book made me feel. The narrator of this audiobook is Andrea Emmes I have only listen to a few audiobooks I have not listen to her work before. There are many different characters in this book with many different nationalities for the narrator to develop voices for. I believe she did a great job at this. I did not like her voice for CP at first as it made me feel like he was a lot older than the writer projected. The quality of the audiobooks was perfect for me, it was clear with my full understanding of every word spoken. I would recommend this version of this book as I feel the audiobook game me a better feel for the British language spoken throughout this great book. A Royal Shade of Blue is book one is “A Modern Royals” series written by Aven Ellis I have not read this book only listen to the audio version that was narrator by Andrea Emmes. I have not read anything by Aven Ellis before so she was a new to me author that I loved. The story is a Royal romance story of the traditional style of a Prince meeting his true love in the form of a commoner and going against the royal families wishes. Not only was a female character a commoner but she was an American as well, how will the British royal family go to accept her into their fold? Clementine is a survivor but she lives under the very protective eyes of her family. She just wants to me normal as normal as you can be after going through what she did as a teenager. She is the final year of college when she receives a social media message on her Instagram account about her latest post. She returns his reply thanking him for his message, she soon finds herself learning his name and a bit about him. He is CP Chadwick how is studying at Cambridge in England. They soon start a budding friendship as they message and text each other every day. She finds she is enjoying his friendship and it is not until the latest medical test that makes her want to trust him with her most protected secret she tells no one else about, for them to finally talk in person. The way he treated her with this news made her feel more for him than she thought was possible for someone she has never met before. Clementine has no idea what CP stands for and that he is actually Prince Christian of Wales. CP is afraid to come clean with who he is as he loves the fact that Clementine treats him normally and normal is something truly missing from his life. He does not enjoy being in the public eye but that is all part of being part of the Royal British family, a family where he has no true place as he is the spare son of the king. Christian kept himself closed off from the world around him all until he lets this wonderful girl he met online into it. What will happen when Clementine learns the truth? Is this more than just friendship for them both? Will true love find its way through the rocky road of the Royal family? This is a wonderful fairy tale story of true love and how trusting someone can give you everything you ever needed and wanted in life. Thank you to Audiobookworm and the author or this audiobook ARC that I am leaving my honest and voluntary view of.
To say that I really like this story will be selling it short. To say that the list of dream cast members were a contributing factor would be right on point. I very much enjoy this read shortly after receiving the authors' dream cast for this romance. Yes, I say romance not rom-com. I found it to be more real than some romances and more romance than a combination of romance and comedy. Don't mistake my words. There were moments to laugh out loud at and then those just to laugh, but I found it to be all romance. It's safe to say that you will fall in love with Clementine Jones and all that encompasses her. She was a delight fresh air feel. She was honest. She was herself. She was smoother by family and loved by one man many thousands of miles away. All this before it happened. Aven Ellis did a fantastic job selecting the characters to portray her characters for a movie. I could so totally see Kate Beckinsdale as Queen Antonia. I would love to see Helen Mirren as Jillian. She would rock that role. I loved having this dream cast in my head as I listen to the story. I was able to have a more vivid visual. Clementine and Christian were so delightful together and their connection was just wonderful. The I'm-here-for-you-friendship even before they meet each other was delicious. Now, the big reveal had me reeling just a bit. I was very understanding of Clementine and her reaction, but a bit put off that she was not more open minded. I sereious recommend this romance to lovers of romance and mainly those hallmark romance lovers. This was so much a better romance of royalty than what I have seen on Hallmark in a while. It was more real. Gave the reader/viewer/listener more to fall in love with. Andrea Emmes took my breath away. She did the job for English, American, Irish, and upper-crust stogie well. The audio was smooth and gave me much to enjoy.
A Royal Shade of Blue is the second installment from Aven Ellis’ series, A Modern Royals. I can not express how much I loved this story. It was fun, delightful, and sweet. It had me giggling at times and crying at others. It is so very good. I loved Clementine from the start and loved her even more when she meets Prince Christian. I highly recommending A Royal Shade of Blue. I had the pleasure of listening to the audio version. Andrea Emmes’ performance really brought this story to life. Her voice was a perfect fit. I can not wait to listen to the next installment of the A Modern Royals series. This one gets five stars from me. I received the audio version of this book from the publisher. This review is 100% my own honest opinion.
ROYAL SHADE OF BLUE is The Prince & and Me meets the 2010's. Literally. Okay, so that movie wasn't the greatest (I loved it, that's my unpopular opinion), but it's the best description I can give. And I mean that with the upmost respect for the author and the narrator. Firstly, this is not the first book I've listened to that was narrated by Andrea Emmes. She's one of my favorites and I always enjoy her narrations. I love that her portfolio spreads through different genres. She's got diversity under her belt. This audio was pristeen. I do not have a single constructive comment. It was simply perfect. The storyline to ROYAL SHADE OF BLUE is not necessarily a "cliche", but I do feel like I've read similar plots. However, I deeply LOVED this story. Everything that took place in the book felt real. It was believable and very realistic, and definitely pertains to the day and age that we're currently living. I honestly believe the events in this book could happen. Clementine reminds me of myself. Everything she did or thought is so similar to my own actions and thoughts and I genuinely feel like I've been written into this book. Which is probably obsurd, considering I have never met Aven Ellis. And I've never had a tumor. But still, I felt like Clementine was me. Prince Christian, aka C.P., reminds me of someone else I know. I mean, probably not physically-wise, but definitely characteristcally. I have a C.P. of my own. ANYWAY! This book has my foxy-stamp of approval. I loved it so so so much. I cannot wait to check out Aven Ellis' other books!
