Abridged Audiobook
I love the book - but I abhor abridged books! In my mind, it's disrespectful of both the author and the readers / listeners. Why do it???
Renewing acquaintances with this wonderful timeless classic, thoroughly enjoyed it, 50 years on.
Originally this is an excellent version. Glenda Jackson is a SUPERB narrator, managing to do true Yorkshire accents and all the characters voices. That being said, beware when they say "abridged", because not only it indicates that the original audiobook narrated by Glenda Jackson is an abridged version of the book, but also that this audio file in audiobook.com is missing parts of the original audiobook - so you kind of get a double abridgement.
This was the perfect book to brighten anyones spirit. The narration and additional audio sounds was perfect for the storyline.
Very good dramatization, but not the best sounds quality
