Unabridged Audiobook
I had hoped that I would learn something, anything from this book. There were no actual skills taught. Instead, there was an endless array of statistics and facts about random public and historical figures and how they don’t talk. I stayed with the book because I thought he would eventually get to the tips and tricks that would be helpful, but he didn’t. The info he gave was the basic knowledge everyone knows but no one follows: listen more than you talk, don’t be consumed by social media, and turn the other cheek when someone offends you. The final straw for me with this book was about half way through when he began dropping hints about his political beliefs and pushing his party through his message. Frequently giving opinions on people from opposing parties being terrible people and prime examples of people who over talk while speaking only highly of the people from his preferred party and how they are not over talkers. I personally don’t like it when anyone from any political side gives their opinions and tries to sway others by infusing it into their unrelated agenda or topic at hand so this was very off putting to me. My overall opinion is that this book was not worth the listen.
