Unabridged Audiobook
I did this book on Audio. The readers were excellent their accents and use of other languages words made the book so enjoyable, come alive. The authors descriptive pros showed such a command of the language there were several places I’d stop and think ‘what a beautiful use of the words’. This book played while I packed up my house for a move and made the chore fly by.
Reading this reminded me of "People of the Book" (one of my favorite reads last year) in that the book is the crux of the story, flipping back and forth from present to the 17th century.
This book is great fun and you get to learn a bit of history and a little bit about other cultures while you read a beautifully told love story from the past.
Engaging story, well written and well read. Good character development without becoming bogged down in descriptions
