Three stars for the book, one star for the narrator. The book feels like a disconnected collection of vignettes. Lots of ghosts and not so many wild women. Maybe they're wild in their own cultural context, but I'm not sure it translates well to the North American cultural context. The narrator's inflection, pacing, and cadence were all super off for me. Emphasis on the wrong word in the wrong way in most sentences. It just didn't read like I would read the book, at all, and that made it super hard for me to get into it.
