Born in Atlanta, Georgia, Robert Tate Miller was raised in the North Carolina mountain town of Hendersonville, where his family moved when he was three. Rob's family was in the hotel business, and at age eleven, he had his first job--taking reservations, busing tables, cutting grass, and caring for the pool and shuffleboard courts. Rob started writing for fun around that time and grew up to become a professional writer, selling the first of many published essays to the Christian Science Monitor in 1994.
