She is the author of several picture books, including New Year at the Pier, and the young adult novel in verse Girl Coming in for a Landing, which won both the Lee Bennett Hopkins Honor Award for Children's Poetry and the Myra Cohn Livingston Award. Katie Kath illustrates books, magazines and literary media for children, and is the artist of more than fourteen picture and middle grade books. She graduated with her MFA in illustration from the Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD) and has conducted workshops and lectures for both kids and adults across several states.
